The house has gone to the Dogs......

The newest member of the family..... adopted yesterday..... Ruby :) She is a DOLL!!!! So sweet and yet doesn't take any crap from Bridget..LOL

This is Bridget ;)

The first night was full of a lot of vocalization. But today was lots of tug-o-war, tumblin and nappin :) They even enjoy walks together :D Surprisingly it is not so hard walking the two of them..... they tend to actually walk better together :P Go fig LOL

I think the day we went to see Ruby,(it was the 3rd time I had gone to see her) that she knew it was a day she would leave the shelter. She was so excited and wouldn't let Shawn out of her sight. She went right to the car and waited for us to open the door and rode home with her head out the window for the first time in who knows how long.

Whoever had her before must have been very hard on her. This morning while I was in the shower, she asked to go out, but no one knew because she doesn't bark to go out, and so she had an accident. I came out and saw it, but NO RUBY was to be found. She had ran and hid upstairs and didn't want to come down. She finally came down after much calling but would NOT come anywhere near me, afraid of being punished. Head hanging, she finally was led over and I told her "No" and put her out. She seemed so perplexed that she did not receive an ass whuppin. Poor thing...... I can't imagine who would beat such a lovely girl......

Her and Bridget's favorite game is tug-o-war...... It is hilarious to watch.... especially since I have never actually owned dogs that WOULD play tug-o-war together. I know it is mostly a dominance game..... but they really enjoy it. Ruby will toss it around in front of her until she plays... and if and when Bridget wins, she drops it and barks until Ruby gets off the couch and plays some more..LOL

Right now the two of them are laying in front of the couch getting some much needed rest :D Ruby has added an element to the house that Bridget desperately needed..... a DOG! Now Bridget has a dog to compare to a person, and know that there is a difference. Already Ruby has had an influence on her personality and shyness as well. Bridget is sooooo interested in what Ruby is doing when she meets and greets strangers, that she becomes willing to approach and sniff. I think it's only a matter of time before she begins to lighten up and become more trusting like Ruby :) Let's cross our fingers ;)
